Pitcairn Islanders launching an island-built whale-boat in Bounty Bay, Pitcairn Island, where the Bounty mutineers landed on January 23rd 1790. Approximately 150 descendants inhabit the island today.


Anchor of H.M.S. Bounty
Anchor of H.M.S. Bounty which has remained hidden under 50 feet of water since dropped by Fletcher Christian in 1790, was recovered in January 1957. It is now a prized relic of the mutineers descendants who today inhabit Pitcairn Island.
